My Winter Essentials: Three Outfits

I love winter. As a girl who always feels a little ‘exposed’ in t-shirts and short shorts, and always seems to be sweating as soon as the thermometer hits 20 degrees Celsius, I welcome the cooler months whole-heartedly. Each winter I make a few investment purchases like a coat and boots that tie in well with the rest of my wardrobe, and this year I feel like I’ve really hit the nail on the head. These three outfits (and combinations of them) are my staples this winter – they’re warm, look chic and are so easy.

This first outfit includes my new coat from Oxford (which is currently on sale HERE! Yay!), a simple grey turtleneck knit and my black Wittner boots. I wear this basic outfit with either dark blue jeans or a black skirt with opaque tights – keeps me warm and is VERY easy to put together. The Oxford coat is a wool blend so it’s super cozy, but is tailored enough to pull any outfit together. A bright red lipstick can take this outfit from day to evening cocktails. Nothing beats a white blouse and blue jeans – especially when you pair them with classic black pumps. These jeans are halfway between skinny and straight, which makes them very flattering for someone like me, who is a little curvier on the bottom, and (in my opinion) the perfect blue. I love this Tokito blouse with its Swiss dot fabric (which I bought last winter, so it’s unfortunately no longer in stock). I throw my Oxford coat from above on top, or pair the outfit with a navy or black blazer for the perfect office combination. My glasses are subscription DKNY from OPSM – and were 70% off when I got them. Bargain

If you follow me on Instagram (PLUG: find me HERE @ronjabear), you’ll notice that my outfits tend towards the mulberry side of things. I love this colour – I’ve got a wine-coloured bag, boots, evening dress, scarf… you name it. These embroidered suede boots from Wittner are the most gorgeous things I’ve ever seen (I get a lot of compliments when I wear them, too, which is a bonus) and I love this soft merino sweater from Emerge on Ezibuy. For something a little different, I paired them with these grey biker jeans from Target, and a beautiful cashmere scarf my boyfriend’s family brought me back from the US. This moroccan print is so on trend this year, so I can pretend I’m cool, even though I really just love the colours and the weight of it.
